Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2

NONDC: Neighborhood Stabilization Program

NONDC is part of the New Orleans Neighborhood Stabilization Phase 2 (NSP2) Consortium (NOC Consortium).  The New Orleans Consortium is a partnership between 11 experienced non-profits, the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) and green building consultant Green Coast Enterprises.  The NOC Consortium was awarded $29.7 million to conduct comprehensive redevelopment through the rehabilitation and new construction of homes throughout a variety of neighborhoods across the city.

NONDC received funds to acquire vacant, blighted, and foreclosed property and to build a minimum of 4 three-bedroom, single-family homes in the Central City New Orleans.  Construction has begun on these units and is anticipated to be complete by October 2011.

Constructed under the Harmony Homes brand, these new units will meet both Enterprise Green Communities and Builders Challenge criteria.  They will also be outfitted with solar panels, reducing electric bills by a projected 30 percent. This represents some of the first residential units in Central City New Orleans to use renewable solar energy.

NSP2: Neighborhood Stabilization ProgramAll buyers of our NSP2 properties are required to earn 120 percent of the area median income or less and attend homebuyer training. Visit the Homeownership section or contact Katherine Medina, Community Outreach Manager, at kmedina@nondc.org.
