Unless this meeting has individuals and companies who are willing to give a 1st time offender and opportunity to turn their lives around, this will be a waste of time. Unless there are fathers who will be given an opportunity to return to their families rather than be jailed over BS that does not affect anyone other than themselves, victimless crimes, this meeting is meaningless. Unless there will be vocational and technical schools opened in the next 3 to six months that teach young men trades that they will be able to use in a city that will be building for some time to come, this meeting has no meaning. Unless the law enforcers are willing to go after the real violators, i.e. those who bring guns and drugs into a depressed community, and then pass laws that target the street level criminal while the shippers go scott free, or unless there will be mentors dispatched to every elementary, middle and high school to help young people to read, do math, or write, then this meeting will have no value. It is a waste of time. The true drawback to violence among African American males is that the violence exists in primarily urban settings because of the very people who pass laws to ensure their very existence, while punishing those who fall into the set up trap, imprisoning them behind bars, or ensuring that they hardly ever succeed. Why waste people's time? The solution is in the very deprevation that was designed many years ago, and any supposed attempt to address this problem is an attempt to see how successful the program has been in eliminating or suppressing African American growth and development.
